I heard about MTurk a few years ago and tried it for a short time. I liked it, but a major thing that put me off was because I'm in the UK, I can only receive payments from them via Amazon UK giftcard. I really would prefer cash. That's the main reason I stopped using it. I hope MTurk changes that in the future where I can opt to be paid via cash or giftcard. I'd really like that.

Yes, that is real problem for UK workers, especially as you must pay for international shipping. Amazon does offer Indian workers a disbursement check, but all other countries outside of the US have to settle for gift cards and I can't understand it.

Oh yes, Amazon UK giftcards aren't available, are they. I now remember that's what put me off all the more at the time. If they were available, then I'd consider it even though I prefer cash. It just doesn't seem worth it for me as it currently stands. I too don't understand why Amazon does that. It's not as if it's two separate companies.
